Dr Quantum on Quantum Mechanics : Physics : Double Slit Experiment : Entanglement & Flatlander

Dr Quantum – Double Slit Experiment, Entanglement & Flatland

This fun and relativity simple animation comes from the film: “What the Bleep Do We Know!?: Down The Rabbit Hole”. It is used for educational purposes; as it explains what the Quantum Physicists refer to when they talk about ‘wave-particle duality’ and the ‘double-slit experiment’.
Matter can exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties. For example, electrons undergo diffraction and can interfere with each other as waves, but they also act as point-like masses and electric charges. The theory of quantum mechanics is a attempt to explain these apparently contradictory properties exhibited by matter.

Dr Quantum — Entanglement

In the book “Provocative Cosmology”, a phenomenon whereby all matter within the universe is connected is both discussed and explained. This is what Quantum Physicist refer to when they use the term “Entanglement”.
Basically, everything in the universe is connected — this only became apparent to scientists after discoveries were made in the later branch, Quantum Mechanics. Quantum Mechanics is providing the link between science and metaphysics, although many in the scientific world would not wish to accept that statement.

Scientists seem to have forgotten that they evolved from the meta physicists and seers of the past. They were the forward thinkers who investigated deeper meaning and cause to all things worldly. Perhaps it is now time the two seemingly disparate fields are once more unified; which will be inevitable over time.

Dr Quantum — Flatland, Exploring Other Dimensions
It explains what the Quantum Physicists refer to when they talk about ‘other dimensions’.

It can be difficult for us to comprehend what it means when mention is made of other dimensions; this takes us back to the two-dimensional universe and shows what it would be like for someone — or something — to consider our three-dimensional being.
